Once mom discovered the root, the real key to power, she wasn’t willing to just stop there. She chose to bring an army with her…

when she prays
My mother believed in the unity of women. She didn't accept the idea that we needed to compete or fight with each other to gain fake power. She just knew that we had more strength in unity, than we did in competition.
Mom lived it. She taught it. And she passed it on. But unity doesn’t just happen on it’s own. We need some tools, and one of her favorites is the power of effective prayers.
And she didn't mean just any type of prayers. She taught us the kind of prayers that conquer nightmares, restore marriages and heal broken hearts. The kind of prayers that draw you closer to God in your weakest moments. The prayers that help you get up off the bathroom floor, clean yourself, dry your tears and step into a better day without bitterness.
Yes. It's time to pray.
phenomenal things happen…
when women choose to pray instead of gossip or worry. But it’s almost like we have to slow down in order to fill up on the stuff that really matters. And our prayer life really matters.
So, this year we are making room
- to remember the lessons we’ve learned along the way;
- to encourage each other and
- to stir up our prayer lives together.
And to honor her vision, I get to work with a dynamic group of ladies as we relaunch the Phenomenal Woman Weekend that began with her.

she just needs a little spark…
In case you never met her, my mother was amazing (it’s just true) and she gave birth to a small army of biological (there’s 3 of us) and spiritual daughters (more than I even know). And I pray that each woman always remember her lessons wrapped in laughter and love; and that each woman grows stronger daily and pays it forward, constantly.
Because one of the best gifts for a mother and a mentor is to know you are using what she gave you to build a brighter life, daily. And as mental fingers run through my heart cataloging every gift, if I had to choose my favorite, I'd have to say,
it's the prayers for me.”
