1ST PERSON ~ a few things I like to share
Hi, I'm Jamillah, and to this day I play with my alphabet the way the 5-year-old me played with mud — wild and curious.
There was a time when my bedroom wall was tattooed with poetry and prayers and my heart was so broken that I didn't want to be here. So, I wrote… to heal, to think, to pray. And writing is still a lifeline for me.
My desire is to collect words for warriors like me overcoming all kinds of broken things including broken thoughts, relationships and dreams. So, I can be raw, honest and a bit on the dramatic-side. But it’s driven by a need to get these words out and the belief that we can shine through every pain. Even though that journey can be messy, I still fight for hope — one poem, one cry, one song on the page at a time.
